Situated just 30 miles south of our holiday cottages, Bridlington, is historic Fort Paull, Yorkshire's only intact Napoleonic fortress. Originally designed to defend the Yorkshire coast from the warring French, Fort Paull now functions as a living museum, visitor centre and events venue, with this summer's calendar already packed with days out to suit the whole family.
Coming up next on the list of events set to place over the summer months are Civil War Hull (July 7-8); a series of displays, battle reenactments and exhibitions focusing on the English Civil War, while the August Bank Holiday will feature the renowned 'Knights in Battle'. That weekend is set to feature swords, shields and bows and arrows aplenty as the Knights in Battle set about their feasting and fighting.
Events are regularly added to the calendar which you can check by logging onto their website at www.fortpaull.com. Our holiday cottages, Bridlington, offer our visitors the ideal base to explore the history and customs that make our accommodation on the east Yorkshire coast so unique.
