The 2015 Jazz and Blues Festival

The 2015 Jazz and Blues Festival

Surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, the countdown to the most enjoyable jazz concert has begun, taking place at the award-winning grounds and great hall of the Elizabethan Burton Agnes Hall.

Set amidst the breath-taking venue, soak up some of the UK’s hottest jazz and blues acts at the 2015 Jazz and Blues Festival, from Friday 3rd July to Sunday 5th July.

The popular summertime event has previously enjoyed spectacular performances from a host of jazz and blues greats, including Clare Teal, Stacey Kent, Kenny Balls’s Jassmen, Jacqui Dankworth, Oli Brown, Ian Siegal and the Missisippe Mudbloods, Simon McBride and JTQ. And the 2015 festivities are no exception…

The occasion marks one-hundred years since the birth of, perhaps, the greatest of all jazz singers, Billie Holiday. In true celebratory style, the critically acclaimed tribute act, ‘Lady Sings the Blues' will perform at Burton Agnes, featuring Val Wiseman. Twice-crowned  ‘best singer’ in the British Jazz Awards, six jazz stars will perform alongside Val Wiseman, presenting a memorable range of songs from the style of the 1930’s, 40’s and 50’s.

With something for everyone to enjoy, bands will flow from the outdoor main stage, right through into the Great Hall. You can also enjoy the shops, café courtyard and late night sessions in the bar tent that Burton Agnes has to offer. When you begin to feel peckish, delicious food will be available, served by the expert catering team, including mouthwatering bites, from homemade burgers to spicy curries, vintage ice creams to bakes and wonderful cupcakes served in the tea tent.

Camping facilities are also available, where you can pitch up in the scenic surroundings of the adjacent Park Field. Not to mention, fun-filled activites and games for the inner child in everyone! Why not take part in some Balloon artistry, face painting and popular highlights of Burton Agnes, including a maze, giant games, jungle garden and a woodland walk with a range of forest creatures to discover.

A complete jazz experience for the whole family, the 2015 Jazz and Blues Festival presents tradition and heritage at it’s best, while creating a relaxed and happy atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
