The Perfect Musical Getaway – The Sound of Music

The Sound of Music One continues to be one of the greatest musicals of all time, taking to the stage of Hull New Theatre, running from Monday 13th April until 25th April 2015, as part of a major national tour.

The critically acclaimed family favourite tells the uplifting and inspiring true story of the singing Von Trapp family. From truly romantic beginnings to a thrilling escape for freedom, the production will take you back in time, to when the family’s beloved Austria becomes part of the Third Reich at the start of WW||.

Watch the action-packed journey unfold, as the Von Trapps flight across the mountains comes to life in their search for happiness. A true classic for the young and young at heart!

Danielle Hope plays the iconic part of Maria, who captures the hearts of everyone as she is welcomed into the family of the Von Trapps (following a few tricks and games along the way!). You may recognize Danielle as the winner of BBC Television’s Over the Rainbow, from which she made her professional debut as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium. She has also since played Eponine in Les Miserables in London’s West End and the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat.

Enjoy an exceptional musical production this spring, featuring some of the most memorable songs ever performed on stage, including My Favourite Things, Edelweiss, Do-Re-Mi, Climb Ev’ry Mountain and The Sound of Music!
